Steel pipe is a versatile product range. It satisfy the standards for low pressure reticulation/piping, general mechanical and structural applications. Although they have a larger wall thickness than CHS in the structural steel products range, steel pipe is of a lower strength grade to structural CHS.

Standardised diameters and thicknesses for steel pipe products permit industry accepted connections to be readily used in fluid conveyancing applications. Larger wall thicknesses also help to provide longer service life in heavy fluid and wear applications. Example of these include that encountered in mining operations, slurry and concrete pumping. A galvanized coating and large wall thickness improves the pipe’s corrosion resistance in some water reticulation applications.
